However, according to the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, only about 6% of people with a tattoo are asking about having their tattoos removed. Compare that to a national divorce rate well above 50 percent. We seem to love our tattoos more than our spouses.

To serve this growing popularity in tattoos, there are about 20,000 licensed tattoo parlors in the U.S., with an untold number of unlicensed, amateur “tattoos unique” artists learning their craft, and websites offering custom tattoo designs customers can download. And speaking of growing, each day a new tattoo parlor opens for business somewhere in America. Making tattoos one of the fastest growing retail business sectors in our economy.
